Our Philosophy
Glen Allen Baptist Pre-Kindergarten is a ministry of Glen Allen Baptist Church and designed to help students grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially.
It is our purpose to treat each child with respect, honesty and love that will assist in the development of a healthy self-image. Emphasis is placed on the developmental level at which each child is functioning and not upon chronological age.
Developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials enable the children to learn through the media of play using all their senses.

Our History
Glen Allen Baptist School Pre-kindergarten was established in 1992 following the completion of the church's educational wing. Since then, the pre-k program has served thousands of students and families in the local community, including all four of the current Pre-K Director's now-adult children.
Licensing and Staff
In compliance with the Code of Virginia, Section 63.2-1716, Glen Allen Baptist Church Pre-Kindergarten is religiously exempt from licensure and is classified as a "religiously exempt child day center". Enrollment is limited to 54 students and does not exceed the approved Social Services child-to-teacher ratio.

Our teachers are hired based on their educational background and experience. Our staff is committed to providing a safeand secure environment for our children to learn and play through developmentally appropriated practice and Christian philoosophy.

Our teachers are First Aid and CPR certified. Each Staff member attends professional development annually, consisting of in-service training programs, workshops, or conferences closely related to early childhood education.

All staff members are certified annually by a practicing physician or nurse practitioner to be free from any disability that would prevent them from caring for children.
Facilities and Insurance
Glen Allen Baptist Church's pre-kindergarten program utilities the church's educational building which was constructed in 1990/1991. The brick and block constructed building is approximately 90 feet by 45 feet and consists of five air conditioned rooms on the main floor that house the pre-kindergarten program. Three of the rooms are 16 feet by 19 feet with adjoining child's bathrooms between the rooms.
A full kitchen is located in the basement about fifty steps from the rooms. A fenced-in playground is located behind the educational building. Playground equipment includes swings, climbing ladder, chin-up bars, and a balance beam.

Glen Allen Baptist Church Pre-Kindergarten is covered by general liability insurance. This type of insurance is not to be confused with accidental injury insurance.
